Spirits
Spirits is a personal and ongoing body of work centered around three recurring figures: Dove, Fox, and Lion. These archetypal forms first emerged in my adolescence and have come to represent distinct emotional and existential states. Over time, they’ve evolved into a kind of internal symbolic language—a way of reflecting, questioning, and navigating life. The act of painting them begins in quiet meditation, allowing their presence to take shape through intuition and memory. Much like traditional systems of divination, these images serve as portals—offering moments of insight, ambiguity, and transformation for both artist and viewer.
Dove represents connection—our social selves, relationships, and the human need for closeness and empathy.
Fox embodies the search for the unknown and the transcendent, but with a trickster’s nature: elusive, unpredictable, and fleeting.
Lion stands for action, ambition, ego, and forward momentum—the force that pushes us to achieve and assert.
